Failed to read PDF when using a file manager and webdav

Hey,

I tried to connect to our webdav files with Gnome Files and the Windows file manager. It works (they are picky, so it’s necessary to add the dav 1,2 headers in nginx). You can list files and directory, you can drag and past files, you can delete them and recursive deletion of a directory also works.

But you can’t open a PDF directly from the file manager. It looks like Reva doesn’t know how to respond to HTTP requests with Range headers (206 Partial Content)

$ curl -u nicolas.legrand -H “Range: bytes=0-1000” -I ``http://localhost:9143/remote.php/webdav/users/nicolas.legrand/Mutant_Year_Zero_Ad_Astra.pdf
Enter host password for user ‘nicolas.legrand’:
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Accept-Ranges: bytes

Is it possible to activate partial contents with ocdav? Or using a file manager is not a required reva use case?$ curl -u nicolas.legrand -H “Range: bytes=0-1000” -I http://localhost:9143/remote.php/webdav/users/nicolas.legrand/Mutant_Year_Zero_Ad_Astra.pdf
Enter host password for user ‘nicolas.legrand’:
HTTP/1.1 200 OK
Accept-Ranges: bytes

Thank you for your answers,

Nicolas

Hi Nicolas,

In fact, Reva itself supports Range requests: I implemented this myself a few months ago for the ROOT viewer. However, I only added support for doing this on EOS. Since you’re running ceph, let me check with Rasmus if we can add support for that.

Great, thank you!

I’ll be ready to test it if you need to!
